Banksy is a London based street artist with an infamous history. Banksy’s work has spanned several decades with iconic pieces muraled across several cities like London, France, New York, and several others. Banksy has remained infamous and iconic due to the fact that he has rarely ever shown his face. He is knows for his comical monkey mask persona and has stayed anonymous to his true identity. Banksy has challenged many political figures and governmental ideas and pushed the boundaries for street art.

The Renwick Gallery is a D.C. based art museum with “living” pieces immaculately displayed within it. This beautiful gallery is considered living due to the fact that most of the artwork requires you to virtually walk through it. Pieces range in size from not much larger than your hand to the size of an entire room. Tangible pieces that you can touch to pieces made entirely from light refraction, the Renwick is an awe inspiring exhibition of work.

Scorpion Dagger is a book by artist James Kerr, featuring a collection of remixed renaissance works with animated elements, creating surreal looking gifs. He began with short animations as a hobby and transitioned to making gifs in 2012. Since then he has created iconic pieces used in advertisements commercials and art exhibits.

 

Butch Hartman is an American animator, cartoonist, director, writer, voice actor and much more. Butch is the creator of many successful children cartoons like, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Avatar and many others.

Not only does Hartman create all his own characters, he also produces all his own shows using his production company Billion Fold inc. Hartman’s success has landed him spots on several major stations like Nickelodeon and cartoon network alike. 

Virgil Abloh is an American artist, fashion designer, music producer, and Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, as well as the founder of “Off-White,” his Milan based clothing brand. Virgil always had a sense for design and began to take his career seriously i his early 20’s. Slowly developing skills, and soon designing next to the names of Kanye West and Jeremy Scott alike. Since Virgil’s appointment as Artistic director of Louis Vuitton, he has taken the brand in a new progressive direction. Straying away from its traditional elegant roots, to a more, visually artistic, street influenced attitude. aNot only does he divert from traditional methods within Louis Vuitton, Off-White is no exception. He recently introduced a line of industrially influenced footwear with a deconstructive finish. Furthering his new and creative mindset towards todays art and culture.

 

 

 

 

DeathBurger otherwise known as Josan Gonzalez is a futurist, visual artists who sketches and paints incredibly detailed images of his own dystopian future. Gonzalez has developed a universe in which he has created hundreds of characters, citizens and events alike, all coinciding in this strange environment.  All of DeathBurger’s work is hand sketched, digitally scanned, then colorized via digital programs on pc. Gonzalez’s most viewed platform is his Instagram. Where he shows his finite attention to detail in several progress images and videos. This allows the viewers and customers of his work to have an increased personal connection with the universe he is creating by watching him construct it day by day. 

 

Salvador Dali was a Spanish surrealist artist best known for his strange, dream-like images which sparked many thoughts and interpretations. Not only did Dali create paintings, he dove into several different mediums of art: photography, film, and sculpture. Through all this, his own creative persona began to take shape. Dali’s art used modern influences, geometric shapes, and abstract ideas, creating awe inspiring pieces that remain a staple in the art community today. 

Takashi Murakami is a Japanese Contemporary artist, who is amerced in several genres of art including digital media, both small and commercial projects. As well as an extensive career in fashion development and conceptualization.  Murakami’s art is bold, whimsical, progressive, and eye catching to say the least. His use of bright colors and cartoonish characters heavily influenced by Japanese culture, has led him to successfully stand out amongst the crowd and established him as an art powerhouse.
